Landscape and accent lighting is one of the most impactful ways to enhance the exterior of a home and make it stand out in the neighborhood. Often considered the #1 exterior upgrade for curb appeal and can be a major factor in the sale of a home. Available in 120V or 12V systems.

120V Landscape Lighting

Does not require a transformer. Requires wiring to be buried approximately 18 inches deep. Typically more labor-intensive when no existing system is in place.

Low Voltage Landscape Lighting (12V)

Requires a transformer. Wiring is typically buried only around 6 inches deep. Often recommended when no existing landscape lighting system exists due to lower labor costs. Easier to expand or modify in the future.

Common Landscape Lighting Types

Uplights are used to illuminate trees, palms, and vegetation, transforming a normal yard into a custom outdoor environment that encourages outdoor living. Pathway lights create a soft, welcoming glow along walkways leading to entry doors, backyards, or outdoor spaces. Accent lighting is ideal for highlighting stone ledges, concrete features, driveways, and pavers.

Fixture Types & Coastal Considerations

Landscape lighting fixtures are available as integrated LED fixtures, which require full fixture replacement if a light fails, or fixtures that use a separate replaceable bulb. In coastal environments, brass landscape lighting fixtures are strongly recommended. Brass fixtures resist corrosion and will naturally develop a patina over time, rather than rusting. Integrated LED fixtures are also often recommended near the coast due to salt air corrosion that can occur inside traditional lamp sockets.
